Mark Stratmann

Mark practices in all fields of commercial advice, dispute resolution, family law and estates, including applications for guardianship and administration.

 

His early legal work involved large insurance litigation with a boutique firm in Melbourne.  He has legal experience in the mining sector and also brings to his position wide experience from outside the law including university teaching positions, commercial broadcasting, organisational development consultancies and educational administration.

 

He regularly conducts mediations in relation to retail tenancy matters and is a member of the Small Business Commission Mediation Panel.  Mark is also a director of the Western District Health Service and committee member of the WestVic Division of General Practice based in Ararat.

 

 



Patrick Holt

Patrick began legal practice in the USA after graduating law school in 1983, started his own law firm in 1985 and practiced in the areas of business law, corporations and companies’ law, agriculture and water law, litigation, international law, banking and finance, real estate conveyancing, as well as estate planning.  He grew up on a large cattle and horse ranch in the western USA and was a partner for many years with his brother in a cattle and grain property in Canada.  

 

He taught legal courses at the university level and served for over 20 years on the board of directors of a regional US bank.  In 1996 he was appointed to the judicial bench in the Justice Court of Montana.  He moved his family to NZ in 2003 and has since been qualified and enrolled as a Barrister & Solicitor in both NZ and Australia.

 

With international legal qualifications, he has represented clients in the USA, NZ, Australia, Canada, Japan and Europe.  He has also owned his own companies in the USA, Canada, Australia and NZ; but has always stayed close to the practice of law.

 

Patrick has helped clients work on projects ranging from family agreements to international transactions involving multiple parties spanning several continents. He understands agriculture, the law, international business and the challenges associated with clients and projects in different parts of the world.

 



Yih-Laine Teen

Yih-Laine is a bright new addition to the firm.  She practices in multiple fields of the law,  including Family Law, Wills and Estates, Criminal Law and Dispute Resolution.

 

Yih-Laine previously worked in a boutique firm in Melbourne where she gained extensive legal experience in Property Law.  She also brings to her position knowledge of the Sciences as she graduated top of her class in Forensic Chemistry and Genetics.

 

Yih-Laine is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the WDLA Committee. She is eager to get more involved in the Western District Community.

Simon is a law graduate from Bond University. He expects to be admitted to practice law as a barrister and solicitor in early 2012.

  

Simon undertakes a wide range of property conveyancing transactions and commercial leases on behalf of clients. A background in small business means that he understands that clients want legal advice that is sound, practical and concise.

 

Simon takes a keen interest in the areas of Property Law, Equity and Trust Law, Corporate Structuring and Insolvency practice.
